Help Me To Get The Party’s Ticket Bayo Omotoye Appeal to Ijaw Leaders.

The labour party flagbearer in the 2007 House of Representative election in Ilaje \Ese-Odo Federal Constituency Prince Bayo Omotoye (a.k.a Marshal), Has appealed to Ijaw leaders in Ese-Odo local Government to ensure that he gets the tickets of the party to run election during the 2011 general election

Omotoye who is also the secretary of the labour party in Ondo State while addressing leaders of the LP in Ese-Odo local government at Akure in a meeting ho organized to intimate them about his ambition noted “leaders should please help me to revalidate the mandate that was given to me or you should please give me the ticket again, particularly because I am still alive by the grace of God. The other time you gave me the ticket, and there was no contest, some people came snatched ballot boxes in connivance with the police and other forces and went to write what they wanted in a very shameless manner, now that the atmosphere is more conducive to this aspiration, I appeal to you my great leaders to help me”.

He berated the current National Assembly as constituted describing it as a self serving assembly when the leadership does something wrong, getting involved in one scandal or the other instead of investigating and prosecuting the people involved they would be defending them, wiping up  such sentiments as South Western Caucus etc. This is unfortunate he stated.

The Ondo State L:abour Party scribe stated further “I promise you that by the grace of God you will hear my voice. I pledge that I will be your quintessential legislator who do all at my disposal to ensure that you get your fair share of the dividends of democracy.”

On what he would do when he gets to National Assembly Prince Omotoye stated that “there is going to be a committee that will administer scholarship to our children in the universities when we give that kind of support by way of scholarship that will reduce the level of truancy and absenteeism in the schools”.

Continuing, he stated “as leaders you desire and deserve patronage, but as a House of Reps member I have no contracts to give out but through my oversight functions I should be able to influence contracts for you and I will ensure that such contracts are brought directly to the leaders and in doing this, I will be able to compliment the efforts of Mr. Governor.

Speaking further Omotoye stated “if such things still exist like constituency projects, I will ensure that I influence enough for the area.”

He promised to ensure that the situation whereby representatives are called and they are not picking their calls is drastically reduced if not totally terminated as he promised to devise a means of receiving calls and calling thereafter.

The chairman of the occasion High Chief J.M. Magi, a retired Permanent Secretary, thanked Prince Omotoye for deeming it fit to call on Ijaw leaders and promised to assist him. He described Bayo Omotoye as a gentleman who suffered and stood by the party during its btrying period adding that it is only wise to allow such a man to go again.”

IBN his own comment, Apostle M.T. Agitan, former Chairman of the Caretaker Committee in Ese-Odo local government and currently a member of the OSRC Board noted “we thank God that you are still alive, we promise you that your sweat and your office no other will take.”

Also speaking, Mr. Bekewe Amuluku Special Assistance to the Special Adviser on Niger Delta Matters stated “we are sure that you carry along other contestants because   we would all need to work together during the general election.”

Leader of Ukparamo Progressive Youths Mr. Fred Matthew stated, that Ukparamo Youths have resolved on Prince VBayo Omotoye and they are already going round to ensure total mobilization of Ese-Odo and Ilaje for him. “we Ukparamo Progressive Youths working with other youth groups in Kparamo area have agreed to worked for the success of Prince Bayo Omotoye and we are doing everything to ensure his success. Infact, we are already going to other parts of the Federal Constituency to convass support for him.”
