OKITIPUPA LOCAL GOVERNMENT Ward Secretaries Forum pays solidarity visit to Commissioner Iyantan

The Okitipupa Local Government Secretary forum, an Association of Ward Secretaries of the ruling Labour Party (LP) in Okitipupa Local government, recently paid a solidarity visit to the new commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Oladiran Iyantan.

The group which was led by Adeyelu Eniola and Akin Emorioye Chairman and Secretary of the forum respectively had in attendance all the thirteen ward Secretary of the Labour Party in the Local Government.

Speaking during the occasion the Chairman of the forum Adeyelu Eniola appreciated God for the appointment of Prince Iyantan which he described as a “divine arrangement” adding that he was sure that Iyantan would provide the much needed leadership which will bring unity and cohesion to the Labour Party in Okitipupa Local Government.

He assured the commissioner of the support of the people of the grassroots in the entire local government.

“you can be sure that we and our teaming followers at the grassroots will always queue behind you, we see in you as a dynamic leader who has human feelings, we therefore pledge our absolute loyalty and support for you” Eniola stated.

In his own comment, the Secretary of the forum. Mr. Akin Emorioye who is also the secretary of the Commissioner’s Ward, Aye Ward II noted “we all know that the secretary is the nucleus of any organization constituting the engine room, but unfortunately in Okitipupa Local Government chapter of the L.P, the ward Secretaries are not only sidelined, they are completely marginalized. I appeal to you sir, to use your position to redress this situation and bring succour to the Ward Secretaries.

Emorioye also called on the commissioner to use wisdom to bring all wafing factions of the LP in Okitipupa Local Government together so as to ensure the victory of the party in future elections.

Responding, Commissioner Iyantan expressed appreciation to the secretaries for initiating the forum adding that “it shows some cohesion and unity among the people”.

He stated further that if the larger LP at the Local Government  embraces this kind of gesture, there would have been no cracks in the party.

He also stated that the political differences which people call crisis was due to political interest of individuals, adding that “because of mercy of God our people still show love, the leaders that are concerned still attend each others functions without molestation”

Iyantan called for reconciliation of all factions noting that development could not happen in an atmosphere of chaos and rancour.

“Mr. Governor, is very much interested in the unity of all people of LP in Okitipupa Local Government and by the grace of God the unity is on course” he stated.

He promise to provide a befitting secretariat for the party at the Local Government Headquarters and told the scribes to start sensitizing the people  towards a “unity rally” coming up soon where the Governor will address people of the party.

The special attraction of the visit was a special prayer session which held for several minutes before the commencement of the meeting.

The coordinator of the prayer session Akin Emorioye stated “Because our Governor is a praying person we believe in prayers”

At the occasion the Governor, commissioners and the entire executive council of the Ondo State was prayed for as the Labour Party was also prayed for.
