Was born into the family of late Chief Samuel Oluwole Faduyile Adegun (the Lisa of Ikoya) on March 3rd, 1938 and he is the oldest surviving male child of the family.
His Royal Majesty began his Primary Education in U.N.A School Okitipupa in January 1948 but obtained his first Primary Leaving Certificate at St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School in Okitipupa December 1954.
For three years, he studied at St. John’s Modern School, Okitipupa from January 1955 to December 1957, to obtain the Modern School Leaving Certificate.
He was a pupil teacher in St. Peter’s R.C.M School, Ode-Irele in 1958 when he was admitted into a Teacher Training College Ikere-Ekiti in 1959 and he obtained the Teachers’ Grade III Certificate in December 1960 at St. Augustine’s Teacher Training College, Ikere-Ekiti.
He administered St. Cyril’s R.C.M, Igbodigo in 1961 and 1962, as a head teacher, he proceeded for further training as a Teacher at St. Peter’s College, Akure in 1963 and 1964 where he obtained his Teacher’s Grade II, Certificate in December 1964.
In January 1965, he was posted as a head-teacher to St. Francis’ R.C.M, Igbekebo but later defunct to St. Luke’s Modern School, Okitipupa in June 1965. Three month later, and based on his encouraging performance in his Advance Level G.C.E he was posted as a tutor in Stella Maris College, Okitipupa in September 1965.
By September 1966, he gained admission to the University of Ibadan where he graduated in June 1970 with a B.Sc. (Geography) on Scholarship (Regulation 18) attached to Stella Maris College, Okitipupa.
He resumed his teaching career in Stella Maris College, Okitipupa immediately he graduated in June 1970. In the College, he held various posts including, Head of Department, Games Master and even acted as the principal in 1973 when the principal was on overseas leave, before he was transferred to Victory College, Ikare in February 1975.
But by November 1975, he was again transferred to African Teachers Training College, Epinmi-Akoko.
In September 1977, he got another transfer to Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun as one of the pioneer teachers who assisted in founding the school in 1976.
He worked with his former Modern School headmaster (Mr. E.A Olowu) in Ilutitun where palm oil plantation was established. He was transferred to Methodist High School, Okitipupa he acted as the Vice-Principal of Erinje Grammar School, Ode-Erinje in January 1979.
In the administrative class, he carved out targets for himself:
1. To produce students who could conveniently compete anywhere with their counterparts:
2. To leave behind concrete structures or buildings for generations to use and
3. To establish revenue generating project.
At Erinje Grammar School, Ode-Erinje, buildings were erected, students were competing favourably and a 45-acre palm plantation was established. At the heat of development, he was posted as a principal to Ikoya Grammar School, In September 1980. He extended the palm plantation at Ikoya to about 13acres; he erected a classroom block and a hall. The students were put on the path of self reliance when in September 1983 a transfer letter took him to Methodist High School. He also restructured a dormitory into corper’s residence. Students brought laurels to school in quizzes and games.
By 1988 January, Oba George had another transfer as a principal to Stella Maris College, Okitipupa the College where he began his teaching career in post-primary institution in 1965
At the College, though it was established in 1960, he extended the palm plantation by five acres, re-roofed laboratory block and a classroom block. He restructured the unused dining hall to a Technical workshop. The students’ academic performance was encouraging at both Ikale Local Government and state Government Levels.
In December 1992, after meritoriously putting in 35 years of stainless teaching service and as a principal grade I, he retired voluntarily from the service.
His Royal Majesty, Oba G.B. Faduyile was well respected for his firmness and devotion to duty. The high regard given to him and the high esteem to which he was held were responsible for his election to key posts in the profession.
In 1983, he was elected the Chairman of the principals of Secondary school in Ikale. A post he held until 1990.
Even when he was the Chairman of principals in Ikale, he was again elected in 1984 as the Chairman for Ikale and Ilaje Principals (ANCOPPS, Okitipupa Zone). In 1985 his colleagues elected him as the second Vice-President of Ondo State Principals of Secondary Schools (Ondo State ANCOPSS).
For another two terms in office, he remained in the highest decision making body of Secondary school Principals (ANCOPSS) as First Vice-President 1987 to 1991.
Oba George remained the Deputy Chairman of N.U.T. in Ikale Local Government until his retirement in 1992.
Outside school administration, he was engaged in other activities and organizational functions. In 1978 to 1984 he was a member of Ondo state Swimming Association, and also the Chairman of Referee association for Okitipupa Division from 1972 to 1986.
His Royal Majesty, before his appointment, he held various posts; a member of Board of Governor of some secondary schools. e.g. Ilaje Grammar School, Atijere, Erinje Grammar School, Ode-Erinje, and the Chairman of Ikoya Grammar School Board of Governor. He was appointed a member of land Allocation Committee for Ikale Local Government in 1982. In 1989, he was appointed a member of the Local education Authority for Ikale Local Government.
In 1990, he was appointed the Supervisor of NTI NCE by Distance Learning Service (DLS) which commenced in Stella Maris College, Okitipupa in 1990 and also of NTI Teacher’s Certificate II by DLS in 1993.
In 1990, he was appointed a member of the Local Education Service DLS which commenced in Stella Maris College, Okitipupa in 1990 and also NTI Teacher’s Certification II by DLS in 1993.
A devout Christian and a Catholic by denomination, he was the Choirmaster for St. John’s Catholic Church, Okitipupa, in addition to being the Chairman of Okitipupa Catholic Parish Choirmasters until 1997.
Apart from being a principal in Ikoya, his hometown, he is known to have taken active part in all developments in Ikoya town many of which he initiated.
He was for many years the Secretary of Abodi family in Ikoya working hard to maintain and sustain the status quo of Abodi family in Ikoya and Abodi in Ikale. He is well grounded in the history of Ikoya and Ikale, this was made manifest when he become the first Ikale Oba to publish a book on Ikale traditions and culture.
He awarded a certificate of merit by Okitipupa Lions club on 7th November, 1992
The Ondo state All Nigerian Conference of Principals and Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) awarded George Babatunde the State (ANCOPSS Medallion for his immeasurable contribution to the development of Education and ANCOPSS in Ondo State and Nigeria. The Military Administrator of Ondo State, Navy Anthony Ibe Onyearugbulem FSS, PCS (+) personally decorated the recipient on 26th August, 1997.
In 2008, he again was decorated with an award in meritorious service by Alumni of the University of Ibadan, Okitipupa chapter.
By February 18th, 1998 the Ondo State Executive Council approved his appointment as ABODI.
Since he ascended the throne of Abodi, Kabiyesi has been unrelenting in ensuring that peace, unity and progress reign supreme in Ikale Land. His relationship with fellow Obas has been extra ordinary robust; he has together with other Obas in Ikale worked tremendously at ensuring that Ikale land is progressing. He is the Chairman, Ikale Obas; he is also the chairman, chieftaincy Committee of Okitipupa Local Government and permanent member of Ondo State Council of Obas. In 2000,he was appointed the chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas, the position he use to render many valuable advice to the then ruling government. His tenure as the Chairman Ondo State Council of Obas witnessed unprecedented unity among Ondo State Obas. Till date, traditional rulers in Ondo State hold him in high esteem as a result of his administrative prowess which stands him out among his contemporaries.
He is married to Her Royal Majesty, Olori Grace Olabode Nee Awotula, a prominent woman leader in Ondo State, a retired principal and patroness to many clubs and associations in Ikale. Kabiyesi is blessed with four children who are all married and successful in their choosing professions.
His Royal Majesty is an embodiment of hard work, honesty and peace. He is an excellent administrator and a traditional enigma, with inbuilt desire to work for humanity. Kabiyesi is a rare gem with unquenchable appetite for peace, unity and progress of his people.
