AM INTO THE HOUSE OF REPS RACE - SOJI EHINLANWO

The first son of Senator Hosea Ehinlawo Mr. Soji Ehinlanwo has declared that he is also interested in the race to the 2011 House of Representatives race under the Labour Party.

Mr. Soji Ehinlanwo stated this in Arogbo, the traditional headquarters of Arogbo Ijaws in Ese-Odo local government of Ondo State where he went to represent his father, a serving Senator in the National Assembly under the PDP as Chairman of  a Movie Album launch .

According to Soji Ehinlanwo, though he has come to represent his father as Chairman of the occasion, he is pleased to announce that he has indicated his interest to contest the House of Representatives election.

Sometime last year, Mr. Soji Ehinlanwo, defected to the Labour Party and this raised a lot of furore as his father is a serving Senator with a PDP ticket.

Soji Ehinlanwo also added that he will still come to Arogbo to openly declare his intention.

 

 

 

 

 

Help Me To Get The Party’s Ticket Bayo Omotoye Appeal to Ijaw Leaders.

The labour party flagbearer in the 2007 House of Representative election in Ilaje \Ese-Odo Federal Constituency Prince Bayo Omotoye (a.k.a Marshal), Has appealed to Ijaw leaders in Ese-Odo local Government to ensure that he gets the tickets of the party to run election during the 2011 general election

Omotoye who is also the secretary of the labour party in Ondo State while addressing leaders of the LP in Ese-Odo local government at Akure in a meeting ho organized to intimate them about his ambition noted “leaders should please help me to revalidate the mandate that was given to me or you should please give me the ticket again, particularly because I am still alive by the grace of God. The other time you gave me the ticket, and there was no contest, some people came snatched ballot boxes in connivance with the police and other forces and went to write what they wanted in a very shameless manner, now that the atmosphere is more conducive to this aspiration, I appeal to you my great leaders to help me”.

He berated the current National Assembly as constituted describing it as a self serving assembly when the leadership does something wrong, getting involved in one scandal or the other instead of investigating and prosecuting the people involved they would be defending them, wiping up  such sentiments as South Western Caucus etc. This is unfortunate he stated.

The Ondo State L:abour Party scribe stated further “I promise you that by the grace of God you will hear my voice. I pledge that I will be your quintessential legislator who do all at my disposal to ensure that you get your fair share of the dividends of democracy.”

On what he would do when he gets to National Assembly Prince Omotoye stated that “there is going to be a committee that will administer scholarship to our children in the universities when we give that kind of support by way of scholarship that will reduce the level of truancy and absenteeism in the schools”.

Continuing, he stated “as leaders you desire and deserve patronage, but as a House of Reps member I have no contracts to give out but through my oversight functions I should be able to influence contracts for you and I will ensure that such contracts are brought directly to the leaders and in doing this, I will be able to compliment the efforts of Mr. Governor.

Speaking further Omotoye stated “if such things still exist like constituency projects, I will ensure that I influence enough for the area.”

He promised to ensure that the situation whereby representatives are called and they are not picking their calls is drastically reduced if not totally terminated as he promised to devise a means of receiving calls and calling thereafter.

The chairman of the occasion High Chief J.M. Magi, a retired Permanent Secretary, thanked Prince Omotoye for deeming it fit to call on Ijaw leaders and promised to assist him. He described Bayo Omotoye as a gentleman who suffered and stood by the party during its btrying period adding that it is only wise to allow such a man to go again.”

IBN his own comment, Apostle M.T. Agitan, former Chairman of the Caretaker Committee in Ese-Odo local government and currently a member of the OSRC Board noted “we thank God that you are still alive, we promise you that your sweat and your office no other will take.”

Also speaking, Mr. Bekewe Amuluku Special Assistance to the Special Adviser on Niger Delta Matters stated “we are sure that you carry along other contestants because   we would all need to work together during the general election.”

Leader of Ukparamo Progressive Youths Mr. Fred Matthew stated, that Ukparamo Youths have resolved on Prince VBayo Omotoye and they are already going round to ensure total mobilization of Ese-Odo and Ilaje for him. “we Ukparamo Progressive Youths working with other youth groups in Kparamo area have agreed to worked for the success of Prince Bayo Omotoye and we are doing everything to ensure his success. Infact, we are already going to other parts of the Federal Constituency to convass support for him.”

The current jet pace of development in Ese-odo local government area of Ondo state has dazzled many doubting Thomanses who had concluded that the area because of its riverine, peculiar geographical location make the place one of the most expensive and difficult area to develop.

Right now, in the local government, courtesy of Hon Kennedy Ikantu Peretei the chairman of the interim committee, the unthinkable is happening, and the unlikely has become a reality, the impossible is now true. Since the advent of labour party, the inhabitant of these unique towns have developed themselves to withstand all the ecological, social, economical and political hazard common in the area.

The now live and perform happily and effective both on land and water. Infact, the area which would have depressed on others now makes the people stronger an healthier right from the onset, Hon Kennedy Ikantu Peretei approach to upholding democratic concepts and value in administration and his commitments to the welfare of the staff and the people of the local government are manifestations of his vision and ideologies.

On assumption as a caretaker chairman, tongues were waggling as to whether he would perform to expectation or not. But glory be to  God, cynics and critics have been beaten to it. His performances which are unprecedented in the history of the area which has earned him the appellation of “Miracle Worker” is the talk of the town for Ese-Odo at home and in diaspora.

Hon Peretei is an embodiment of humility, a man of impeccable character, generous to the people and honest with government properties. He is a grassroots politician which probably accounts for his down to earth approach to issues. A man with penchant of excellence and never leaving anything to chances, he addresses all issues with the appropriate degree of attention and seriousness required.

As a committed hard working and enlightened manager of issues, his administration has restored the hope and confidence of workers by enhancing a free working relationship with the staff.

The people house of his achievements resolved to call him “Government’’ “Ijoba” because he drives and serves the people with ease.

Ese-Odo local government being the source of crude oil, the backbone of Nigeria’s economy had distinguish itself with array of brilliant personalities spread across private and public sector of the nation, but lack of development, roads, electricity have been problems facing the people, but since the present government came to power, the people have been experiencing a lot of relief

Hon. Peretei’s chairmanship has recorded an impressive chain of achievements within a year of service. Some of this are;

1.     He built 10 blocks of  20 flats of one bedroom housing units for local government workers to ease accommodation problems according to him, “workers’ welfare of paramount importance to my administration.’’

2.     Five blocks of 25 lock up shops at Agadagba-ogbon

3.     Two blocks of ten lock-up shops at Igbobini.

4.     Two blocks of ten lock-up shops at Sabone.

5.     Solar power borehole at Ipoke

6.     Solar power borehole at Ojuola

7.     Construction of new Universal Basic Education Authority Secretariat at Igbekebo.

8.     Six sides of 60 open wooden market stores at Ekpetonron,

9.     Construction of boats to ease transportation for workers from Igbokoda to Igbekebo.

10.                        Construction of modern motor car park at local government secretariat Igbekebo.

11.                        Public toilet at Arogbo.

12.                        Purchase of lawn mowers.

13.                        Distribution of relief materials wath 2.5 million naira to victims of rain storm.

14.                        Renovation of chairman’s office.

15.                        Renovation of conference hall.

16.                        Renovation of chairman’s quarters at purchase of electronics.

17.                        Renovation of D.I.G.A’soffice and purchase of electronics and generator.

18.                        Renovation of treasurer’s office, and purchase of electronics and generator.

19.                        Payment, student’s bursary to the tune of 2.5 million naira.

Cooperate With New Iya Oloja, Ese –Ode Women Affairs Supervisor Adivses Market Women

The Supervisor for Women Affairs in Ese- Odo Local Government Hon (Ms) Grace Adeyoriju has called on market women in Ese Odo local government to cooperate with the newly appointed Iya Oloja in the person of Mrs. Funke Oyekanmi. Adeyoriju made the appeal at igbekebo recently during a chat with coastalnews.

According to her, the position of Iya Oloja was vital to development and progress of the women in any area therefore “it is only reasonable and wise to support whoever is occupying that position.”

She described the new Iya Oloja as a hard working woman

who is interested in the development of the markets in Ese – Odo .

Adeyoriju promised to work hand in hand with the new Iya Oloja in order to ensure that the dividends of democracy gets to the market women.

She also called on the market women to support peretei’s  administration which according to her has brought monumental development toEse Odo local government.

In a related development, the Supervisor has also appealed to Governor Mimiko to provide stipends for the old age women in Ese Odo local government. According to the her most of the old age women in Ese Odo were fisher women who can no longer go to the fishing grounds again, therefore the provision of monthly stipends for them becomes very important.

“Government should provide monthly stipends for the old ones, when this is done the government will receive the blessings of the old and such blessing will make such government to be very successful” she stated.

Adeyoriju also called on Ese Odo women to participate actively in politics by coming out to contest elective positions because “what a man can do a woman can do better” she stated.

A group of youths popularly known as the Success Dynamic Group of Ese Odo has stated  that the accessibility of Senator Ehinlanwo and his philanthropist nature were responsible for their vigorous campaign to ensure the Senator’s victory for the third term.

The leader of the group who is also the Democratic Youth Group (DYC) Chairman in Ese Odo local government, Comrade Samuel Totoyi (aka Eko) stated that Ehinlanwo’s third term would be a reality as his group had held a lot of consultations with all relevant stakeholders and the District and they discovered that “Senator Ehinlanwo is the one that can fight the battle”

“Ehinlanwo’s third term bid is not new after all Senator Ogunniya represented Ondo Central is about completing his third term and is already working towards his fourth term and the leader of the PDP in Ondo State Dr. Olusegun Agagu is supporting the bid, what then is wrong with Ehinlanwo’s third term”?  Totoyi queried.

He appealed to the leadership of the PDP not to toy with the third term bid of Senator Ehinlanwo if they want victory as according to him it is a strong man like Ehinlanwo that can deliver in the circumstances.
