OGUNMUSIRE ENTERS CHAIRMANSHIP RACE

After months of speculations, it is now certain that top Aye-born
businessman/politician, Pastor Larry Ogunmusire will run for
chairmanship of the Okitipupa local government in the next council
elections.
lkale News can now authoritatively confirm that the Lagos based
Pastor and successful entrepreneur has received the nod of many top
members of the People's Democratic Party under which platform it will
contest.
Pastor Ogunmusire met with caucus leaders of the party last
December and told them that he was ready to contrbute his quota toward
building the party as well as give the political partied a good run to
clinch to coveted seat in grassroots governace.
Although the current litigation between the Labour Party, AD and
PDP on the dissolution of the councils by Gov. Olusegun Mimiko was
holding back intense electioneering campaigns so far, sources said
Pastor Ogunmusire was already working ahead so that he would not be
caught unawares should the State Electoral Commission flag off an
election time table with short notice.
When our reporter cornered him for an interview at the last lju Odo
Day where he was chief launcher, Pastor Ogunmusire declined an
interview but confirmed that he has. Finally succumbed to overtures
towards him to contest the chairmanship.
He stressed that anyone who had opportunity to lead the people and
serve the people should consider it a rare privilege.
"I am comfortable and l thank God for that. But I cannot be
indifferent to the plight of the people, my people. I will gladly step
out once the coast is clear. I know that the way to lead at the local
level is to keep an open door policy and do what directly touches the
lives of the majority of people positively". He told our correpondent.
Pastor Ogunmusire condoled with all lkale on the death of Hon.
Oye Aladrmehin and prayed God to grant his family, Aye people and the
entire lkale people the fortitude to bear the loss.
A top leader of the PDP enthused when repoter sought when
contacted for comments on the development: " I can only sympathize
with our political opponents because we now have good materials.
