The Chairman of the Interim Committee of Ese Odo Local Government, Hon. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei was honored by mentors communications, Limited with a dinner at the prestigious Owena Hotel, Akure.
In his welcome speech, the Chairman/CEO of the Mentors Communications, Mr.Badejo Ojo reiterated the good attributes of Hon Peretei whom he described as humble, diligent and wise.
Mr. Ojo also expressed his appreciation to the Government of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko for appointing Hon Peretei to run the affairs of Ese-Odo Local government.
Mr Ojo further stated that Hon Peretei who has travelled to over 400 out of 744 local governments and 36 states of the federation including Abuja assesing the achievements of Chairmen of local governments can not but perform having assesed others.
In his opening speech, the Chairman of the occassion, Barrister Yerisi Oladele who is also the chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Akure, thanked the organizers of the occassion for giving him the opportunity to chair the occassion
According to Barrister Oladele, the first time he met Hon Peretei was in the Obafemi Awolowo University when they were both students and since they became friends
Barrister Oladele stated further that Peretei has suffered some political victimization but because he is humble, diligent, intelligent and a preserve person, his appointment as the Chairman Ese Odo Local Government is a well deserved one. Oladele also added that Peretei will perform as chairman of Council but there is the need for all to pray and support to succeed.
Speaking in the same vein, the Special Guest of Honour at the occassion, Mr. Boluwaji Kunlere who was represented by the senior special assistant to the Governor Engr Deolu Akinwunmi, reminded Peretei that he is occupying a position that has been occupied by other people and yet do not have anything to show for it, therefore urged Peretei to use his officee for the benefit of the people of Ese-Odo Local government.
In his own speech, Hon Peretei thanked all the people that honoured the occassion especially those that came far from distances. He paid slowing tributes to Chief N.K Tunyan whom he said was the man who hosted them (Mentors Communications) the first time they got to Abuja.
According to Peretei today's occasion would not have been possible without Chief Tunyan because he was the one that gave the necessary support as the initial stage and the support was the bone behind the success story of Mentors Communications. He described Chief Tunyan as a kind generous person is concerned about the success of others
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman/CEO of Mentors Communications Bayode Ojo thanked all that came to grace the occassion. He also paid glowing tributes to Chief Tunyan whom he said provided soft landing for Mentor Communications when they got to Abuja.
According to Badejo Ojo, Chief Tunyan who is first Senior Advocate of Nigeria described Tunyan as a wonderful who spends his personal money to engage on free health programmes for the less privileges in the society.
Speaking further, Ojo said at a point in time, having looked at the philantropic gestures of Chief Tunyan he discussed with Peretei to lure him into Politics but Peretei said the Tunyan he knows will never venture into politics.
He therefore urged Tunyan to continue his kindness as people are watching him and pray that the good Lord will reward him in good time.
