IJU-ODO INDIGENES HOLD DAY IN STYLE

December 26, 2009 provided another opportunity for sons and daughters of lju-Odo of Okitipupa local goverment area of ondo state to meet and
rejoice at 2009 lju-Odo day celebration.
The annual celebration with a fixed date was held at the civil centre, lju-Odo with indigenes and well wishers in cluding the former governor
of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Agagun and his friends added glamour to the occation with their presence.

Addressing the celebrates at the occation, the chairman of the day, Professor Segun Adegbulugbe charged indigenes of lju-Odo to have the
spirit of unity and as he said the town had produced one of the  statemen of Ondo State and Nigeria in general.

He encourage the indigenes to contribute immensely for the project that will develop their community stressing that contribution of indvidual to the develoment of their community will live after them. Chief host at the occasion, Dr Olusegun Agagu who thanked all his  friends for honouring the invitation commended the planning committee  of the celebration for a job well done.

He said lju-Odo in no more a town buy a city noting that there is nothing in the so called city that is lacking in lju-Odo. The former Governor used the occasion to announced a scholarship award  of N25.000 each to twenty best science students of higher institutions  of lju-Odo indigenes assuring that the scholarship will be on merit.

Orofun of lju-Odo Oba D.T. Temola charged the indigenes of lju-Odo to  come and contribute to the development of the town. Chairman, lju-Odo day celebration planning committee, Kayode Ogunji  said the celebration was to enhance the unity and development of lju- Odo town and his people irrespective of their status.
Highlight of the celebration was launching for the completion of the civic centre.
